Ladies European Tour professional Sally Watson will team up with corporate guests to compete in the Castle Stuart Golf Links Cardholders’ Day this week.
The former Curtis Cup player and 2014 LET Rookie of the Year runner-up will take part in the event being held on 6 April to coincide with the start of The Masters.
She will use the occasion and her few days visit to Castle Stuart as preparation for her first event of the season, the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco. She will also take part in a Q&A session with Castle Stuart corporate members and also a ‘beat the pro’ game on the course.
Sally said: “I am excited to see how the course is looking after the winter. Having the opportunity to test my game at Castle Stuart will also be great preparation for Morocco, albeit the weather might be slightly colder.”
Stuart McColm, Castle Stuart general manager, said: “We are very proud to sponsor Sally and it will be fantastic to spend some time with her as she gets ready for another important season.
“It will be a great experience for our corporate guests to play alongside a LET professional and get to know more about her in the Q&A later.”
Sally turned professional after graduating with a BA in international relations from Stanford University, where her academic adviser was Prof Condoleezza Rice, the former US Secretary of State.
Sally’s time at Stanford led to her becoming the first touring professional to be sponsored by Castle Stuart and wear the club’s logos.
Mark Parsinen, managing partner of Castle Stuart and co-designer of the course that hosted the Scottish Open four times in six years, is also a Stanford graduate.
The Castle Stuart Cardholders’ Day is an annual event for the club’s corporate members. This year it has a Masters theme, with an Augusta-inspired lunch and cocktails and a paired Stableford competition, combining the Stableford scores of one cardholder and one Masters participant.
