“(Regarding the Scottish Open), You guys gave a truly remarkable account of yourselves in some very adverse circumstances. The whole golf industry, or world, or whatever, is in awe of what you were able to do. What a story. I know that all the GOLF panelists were thrilled to play the course – and to see it in such remarkable condition so soon after the deluge. They were very impressed.”

“Congratulations too on achieving such a lofty position amongst the leading new courses of the world.  Castle Stuart is a wonderful venue with a special ambiance and I’m sure it will continue to rank high on the list of premiere golf facilities.

Without exception, the Professionals with whom I spoke were full of praise for both the quality of the Course and indeed the Clubhouse facilities and your service staff.  As you are aware I see a huge number of quality venues in my role with the PGA; Castle Stuart rubs shoulders with the very best that I have visited.”

Kindest Regards
Michael MacDougall
Secretary – PGA Scotland

“Congratulations on a fantastic success (with the Scottish Open).  You should be extremely proud. As far as weather is concerned, well weather happens …everyone knows it was outrageously extreme, and it was a herculean effort by all concerned, most notably led by Stuart as GM and all of your extraordinary greenkeeping team.  It was also a remarkable bonding by all the organizations and individuals concerned who embraced it and played their respective parts in overcoming such adversity.  There can be nothing but positives for Castle Stuart Golf Links from this.”
Thanks again
Best regards,
Colin Dalgleish

“I take this opportunity to thank you all for a wonderful golf experience at Castle Stuart on August 6.  I, and the group of 8 I was touring with, LOVED the course and all the other aspects of your operation.  Nobody at Castle Stuart could have been more polite, friendly, helpful and accommodating to us.  You upgraded our day from a great golf outing to a wonderful golf experience….

I wish you all well in your future endeavors.  When I return to Scotland, Castle Stuart will be a mandatory stop for me.”

With my kindest regards,

“….You have a golf course that we in the West of Scotland have come to call our own and are very proud to introduce strangers to it – the comments we have received referring to the course never vary – each one sums up the course as Brilliant design and condition second to none….”

Kindest regards to all

“….From the moment we arrived, the greeting was welcoming and informative but
also very relaxed, putting as at ease and giving us the feeling that we were being looked after from the off.
The facilities are outstanding and the ability to hit some balls, chip and putt before playing without walking miles or fishing around for tokens is also much appreciated….
….Sometimes on arrival at other clubs, we are made to feel a bit like second class
citizens (the handicap certificate saga) and over-policed but I think your approach is going to get everyone else to raise their game!”
Looking forward to the next visit already,
Kind regards
Andrew Swan

“I shall always cherish memories of my first visit to Castle Stuart with my friends from The R & A, Peter Dawson, Robert Webb & Martin Kippax.

The warm welcome and generous hospitality extended to us by your goodself and your colleagues is much appreciated, and, having already heard so many exciting tributes of The Links, we were hardly disappointed.  Indeed, everything about the course was simply magnificent and after a (slightly!) wet and windy start, our subsequent round on Wednesday morning was very special.”
With many thanks and kind regards
Yours sincerely
David Harrison

“We travelled a long way to play Scotland’s great golf courses & without question Castle Stuart was the very greatest & most memorable course we have played.”

“Only 2 times in the last 20 years has a golf course taken my breath away.. Once in 2003 when I played Kingsbarns… and the second time when I played Castle Stuart for the first time…

These are magnificent golf courses and the 2 best courses I have ever played…”

Fergus Kerr

“I have been privileged to play many good courses in Scotland… but Castle Stuart tops them all.

I try to never take things for granted, hence this letter.  Can I take this opportunity to wish you all deserved success for the future.”

Yours Sincerely,
Steve Tulewicz

“….It was such a pleasure for us all to play your wonderful course and, as I mentioned on the day, there was a great deal of eulogising going on from all concerned about the course, setting, facilities etc. We were blessed with a benign day, and the winning score of 41 points reflected this, but it proved to be a course that all felt they had a chance on, and I know that this was always your intention….”

Yours Sincerely,
Richard Devey
OGGS Committee Member

“….But it’s not just the course that’s a bit special. I have played many places, some of considerable repute, and sadly most of them greet you as if you’ve recently been released, take the cost of a small house for a green fee, hustle you round a course set up for Tiger, charge like an angry bull at the bar and pro-shop, then send you on your way with one half of a victory salute. It’s the Castle Stuart attitude that’s a class apart, and thank you for instilling that right through everyone in the club. It was a great pleasure to spend some time with you all…”

Yours Sincerely,
Rae Burton
