Today we are celebrating two major milestones in the short but remarkable history of Castle Stuart Golf Links.
As we welcome international players for the start of the Duke of York Young Champions Trophy, we are also extremely honoured to be included in a portfolio of the world’s finest golf courses, destinations and resorts.
The global launch of worldclass.golf puts Castle Stuart in an elite category, alongside the likes of Le Golf National, this year’s Ryder Cup venue; The Emirates Golf Club, in Dubai; and Royal Westmoreland in Barbados in providing an outstanding visitor experience.
Only 16 venues in the world are included in the list, and just nine in Europe. We are the only Scottish representative and one of only three 3 in the UK to have this highly prestigious accolade.
It is a truly fantastic achievement by everyone working at Caste Stuart who help ensure the quality of the welcome matches our outstanding location and course.
Worldclass.golf is published by Portman Publishing & Communications, publishers of GMé – one of the golf industry’s oldest B2B magazines – and focuses on the visitor experience, an area of the game it says is becoming increasingly more important to visitors and guests in today’s competitive market.
Publisher Michael Lenihan rightly argues that having a great course is only half the battle; guests want to feel special when they visit clubs that they’ve aspired to play.
“Castle Stuart is an exceptional property, and one of the best courses in Scotland”, he said. “The team has worked hard to create a first-rate visitor experience, which is what the whole ethos of worldclass.golf is all about”.
We feel very proud that we have been accepted into this world class group, as we are aware that only clubs that excel, both on and off the course, are invited to join having met strict entry criteria.
These include an appraisal of the course presentation and condition; practice facilities (grass range, premium range balls presented in a pyramid); clubhouse and locker rooms (welcoming, complimentary wi-fi, toiletries and towels) and a quality food and beverage setup.
It’s all part of the Castle Stuart ethos to provide the best experience for our guests and we pride ourselves in making that experience as memorable for individuals whether they are taking part in the European Tour’s Scottish Open, as part of our corporate programme or a one-off visit.
You can tell a lot about a person (or in this case a business) by the company they keep, and being part of worldclass.golf underlines that we are more than a top quality golf course.
