A capacity field of more than 200 golfers will battle it out this weekend to earn a place in the final of the seventh annual Castle Stuart Men’s Local Open.

Qualifying events for the tournament will be held on Saturday and Sunday, with 208 players taking part over the two days.
Such is the popularity of the event that booking was opened earlier and, with all spaces filled, a waiting list is operating.
Played over the championship course where the European Tour has staged four Scottish Opens, the event is open to golfers living in the IV, KW and PH19 – PH41 postcode areas.
The final will be played on Saturday, 11 November, a week before Castle Stuart closes until March 2018.
A series of prizes are on offer during the qualifying events. The eventual winner will secure two hospitality tickets for the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open at Gullane next year.
Last year’s Local Open was won by Walter Geddes, from Inverness Golf Club, whose prize was a slot in this year’s Highland Golf Links 54-hole Pro-Am.
