CASTLE STUART GOLF LINKS ANNOUNCES RESTRICTED RE-OPENING FOR PHASE 1 PLAY

CASTLE STUART GOLF LINKS ANNOUNCES RESTRICTED RE-OPENING FOR PHASE 1 PLAY

Castle Stuart Golf Links is to reopen for play (Friday, 29th May). Initially, golf will be on a restricted basis with a five-day week and limited tee-times.

The course will be open for bookings, subject to final confirmation from the Scottish Government which is expected on Thursday, 28th May. Players can secure rounds for any days except Mondays and Tuesdays by emailing requests from Thursday afternoon onwards.

Stuart McColm, General Manager, said: “We are delighted to be returning to some form of play though we have to be clear that the safety of our staff and visitors is uppermost in our thoughts.

“We will be commencing on a slightly reduced scale as we navigate through the first few days and will alter our operations according to demand.

“The course will be open to our corporate programme and locals, though it is worth remembering that the current lockdown advice appears to be that people should travel no more than five miles for exercise.

“We will be adhering to all of the guidance and lockdown rules in the process. However, we are extremely pleased to be able to make this tentative first step back to playing. We are grateful for the invaluable support we continue to receive from our corporate programme, locals and even golfers from around the world.”

Tee-times will start at 08.30am on Friday 29th May and final tee-time will be 1pm each day. Locals with an IV postcode will be able to book rounds in immediate seven-day periods at a post-lockdown introductory charge of £50 per individual.

The following groupings are permissible (and based on the latest advice received):

  • Individuals playing golf on their own

  • Two-ball games, with household members or with a non-household member so long as they adhere to the Government’s physical distancing rules

  • At the discretion of Castle Stuart, groups of three or four-balls can be permitted if the players come from a total of no more than two households, and also follow the Government’s physical distancing rules

There will be no Clubhouse or Halfway Hut facilities nor will there be toilets – in line with the Scottish Government guidelines as well as Scottish Golf guidance. More information will be available via Castle Stuart’s website as advice is made available.
