Liam scored 22 of his 36 points on the opening nine holes, with a two at the Par 3 8th hole and a three at the Par 4 9th the highlights. Along with the prestigious title, he picked up two tickets with hospitality for the 2019 Scottish Open.

His winning score was just one shot ahead of Greg Smith, from Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club.

Twelve golfers competed in the final, having come through qualifying rounds which attracted another capacity field of 208.

John Jack (Fortrose and Rosemarkie GC) completed a personal hat-trick in taking part in his third consecutive final, the only player to date who has qualified for three finals.

In the raffle draw, Leigh Simpson (Invergordon Golf Club) won a new 2019 TaylorMade driver.

The Local Open has grown steadily since being launched in 2011 for golfers living in the Highland postcode areas IV, KW and PH19 – PH41.

Other finalists this year were - Alan Kinnaird and Robin Fraser (Inverness Golf Club), David Ross (Durness GC), Jake Williamson and Alastair Cameron (Fortrose and Rosemarkie GC), Fraser Oman (Tain GC), Alastair Stoddart (Royal Dornoch GC), Paul Clark (Invergordon GC) and Gavin Wreath (Nairn GC)
